Colour Inspiration

Well, its been a while... I've been busy busy but unfortunately not with Wedding plans. Mr DTP has had an accident and is hobbling around on crutches at the moment so there will definitely be no football in the run up to the wedding - unless we can decorate crutches in the wedding colours, hee hee ;)

And that brings me on to today's inspiration - my first attempt at a colour palette. I love the rich tones and pretty jewel colours. And the blossom tree aisle is just beautiful. I'd like to incorporate blue into our colour palette however I can't decide on any one scheme - maybe we can just have a rainbow scheme!?
Most pictures courtesy of The Knot. Brooch is from Just Divine and the pretty dress with the unusual flower details is by Jade Daniels.
P.S Does any one know how to turn your champagne blue?!

Just Divine

Whilst browsing today I came across Just Divine, a store selling vintage style jewellery. Some of the designs are simply stunning and would be fab for this season's trend towards vintage style weddings. Prices are reasonable which means you wont be afraid to wear the pieces after the wedding - or it could mean you just buy two! Take a look, here are some of my faves:

Perfect pair..

Wow, look at these babies! For some serious bling beneath your wedding gown I'd suggest these Miu Miu beauties. You can grab a pair at Net a Porter. I love the colours and of course the gorgeous surprise detail at the back. I love a shoe with a surprise!

Re-found objects - Northumberland

Check out these fab finds from Re-found Objects. Re are an independent shop in Corbridge, Northumberland who sell an assortment of rare and remarkable bits and pieces - some are recycled and some are restored and others are just plain gorgeous! They've also just launched their new range of products Regd which are textiles or products designed by the owners and most are made locally in Northumberland but you can order from their website. Aside from wedding decor, they allow for you to set up a Bridal registry there for your gift list, just give them a call! Here are some of my favourites from the website that I think could be ideal for weddings. I'll definately be dropping in to their shop to explore when I'm next in the region. I especially love the coloured tin birds. What a gem!

Beatiful Invites

Just wanted to share with you the beautiful invites over at White Aisle. Although they are based over in in Florida, they do post orders to the UK. The invites are so pretty and many of them vintage or eastern inspired. Here are some of my favourites. The colours shown are the ones from the website but you get a choice of colour and can order samples also:

The one with the proposal...

Well, now I've spent hours playing around with all the buttons and customising my blog to make it look pretty I'm getting a little bit of stage fright! All this blank space and the conundrum of what to write about in my first post?! H2B and I were shocked today at the realisation that we have been engaged for almost 6 months so maybe I'll talk about how we got there...

Date: 23rd September, our 5 year anniversary as BF & GF.
Place: Our apartment
Setting: Romantic meal, rose petals, candles
...and I had NO idea despite my hubby to be, BG, planning to propose for almost a year. Well, thats until he started downing the wine during our meal earlier that evening - then I knew there was something going on. Although I had no clue and had made no hints, what was lovely is that it was the perfect proposal for me. A public proposal in unfamilar surrounds would have felt way over the top for l'il ole me but obviously everyone is different and some girls love a public proposal or a movie-worthy propsal at the Eiffel Tower. What's great is that BG knew instinctively what was right for me! Are there any other brides who'd like to share the details of their perfect proposal?
